LWS Wellness provides both in-person counseling sessions and tele-mental health services. My licensure is specific to the state of Florida and I provide counseling to persons who reside in Florida. For tele-mental health sessions, your location, a backup phone number, and your personal privacy will always be verified at each session. Please note: Tele-mental health requires a computer or laptop with a camera. Clients will be provided instructions on how to enter a private tele-mental health room. Clients must keep their video on.
About the Therapist
LeAnne Schumann, MA,
LMHC, NCC
Thank you for this opportunity to introduce myself. I have been a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Florida since 2007. I have extensive experience with college counseling, adult individual therapy, hospice care/grief therapy, trauma care, substance use treatment, and group therapy. I believe counseling is both an art and a science and I am committed to blending the healing power of expressiveness, creativity, and nature with thoughtful, evidence-based therapeutic interventions. I encourage prescriptive therapies such as journaling, exploration of individual talents, expressive arts, and reflection in nature as healing interventions. Each client is the expert on her/his/their life and I am honored to be on a journey of discovery and healing with each client.
Education and Training
I earned my B.A. in English and M.A. in Counseling from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I abide by the rules and code of ethics of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). My theoretical emphasis is Psychodynamic, Interpersonal, and Humanistic. I look forward to further discussing these theoretical foundations with you during a free 15-minute consultation.
