Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I accept a number of insurance plans, including United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Oscar Health, and Oxford. I accept some
EAPs but these generally require additional time for authorization. Please note: Insurance plans vary and each client's insurance needs to be verified before starting their counseling.

Do you accept Medicare clients?

New legislation will allow Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) to accept Medicare in 2024. At that time, I plan to apply to be a Medicare provider.  Please note: this can be a lengthy process and does not guarantee acceptance of Medicare insurance.

What are your fees for counseling?
An initial assessment (first appointment) is $120 and individual counseling sessions are $100.

Do you offer sliding scale fees?
Yes. I try to work with each client based on their individual financial situation. Please call to further discuss.

How can I determine if your counseling style is the right fit for me?
I offer every client a free15-minute consultation to discuss what they would like to focus on in counseling and to ask questions about my counseling style and experience, as well as other brief questions a potential client may have. During the consultation, it is helpful for clients to share if they prefer in-person or tele-mental health and if they would like to use insurance or pay privately.

New Federal Law

The No Surprises Act, a federal bill passed in December 2020, requires health care providers to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
